About the Mantis MTP-1008 Hyundai Kia 2.0T Performance Ignition Coil.
This Hyundai Kia 2.0T Performance Ignition Coil covers the 2.0T GDI and T-GDI engines. Most notably, it fits the enthusiast-favourite Hyundai i30 N and Veloster N, together with the 2.0T Kia Stinger and Genesis G70.
The same Hyundai Kia 2.0T Performance Ignition Coil also supports other selected Hyundai and Kia applications, across the turbocharged 2.0-litre G4KH and naturally aspirated 2.4-litre G4KJ engine families from around 2015 to 2023.

Why do my original ignition coils fail?
Ignition coils operate in one of the most demanding environments found anywhere on a modern car.
They are exposed to heat, vibration and repeated electrical loading, often while mounted directly onto the engine. Every time a spark plug fires, the ignition coil must convert the car’s low battery voltage into the much higher voltage needed to create a spark inside the combustion chamber.
Over time, this repeated stress will inevitably cause the coil’s internal insulation, windings, electrical connections or outer casing to deteriorate.

Can Mantis coils help fix misfires?
They can help if the misfire is caused by weak or failing ignition coils. However, misfires can also be caused by spark plugs, injectors, wiring or other engine issues, so proper diagnosis is recommended.
When should I change my original coils?
There's no single answer to this, but we always recommend that by around 60k miles / 100k kms, your original coils will be deteriorating. You may already be noticing poor running, you may have a fault code - or often, over the years, you may not have noticed the gradual rougher running or lower power that results from weak ignition coils.

Do I need to change anything else?
No coding, wiring changes or ECU calibration are required. For best results, we recommend fitting Mantis coils with fresh, correctly specified spark plugs.
