Installation notes
Direct plug & play — no coding, no FORScan work, no IDS required. Pop the engine cover (two 8mm bolts), disconnect each coil connector, single 8mm bolt per coil, lift out, drop the MTP-1013 in, torque to 8 Nm and reconnect. On a 3-cylinder engine always replace as a set of 3 — the ECU compares cylinder-to-cylinder combustion via the crank sensor, and a mixed-age set of coils causes it to pull global timing to protect the weakest hole, which erases the performance benefit of the new units. Total install time: 15–20 minutes on Fiesta ST / Puma ST, slightly longer on Focus and Kuga due to the deeper engine bay.

Will this fit my Fiesta ST Mk8 / Puma ST / Focus 1.5 EB without coding?
Yes. Direct plug & play — the Ford PCM reads MTP-1013 identically to the OE Motorcraft DG-555 coil. No FORScan, no IDS, no coding of any kind needed on Mk8 Fiesta ST, Puma ST, Focus Mk4 1.5 EB or Kuga Mk3.
Do I really need a full set of 3, or can I just replace one?
We strongly recommend replacing all 3 as a set. On a 3-cylinder engine one weak coil is enormously obvious — the missing power stroke is a full third of the engine — and if one coil has failed the other two have seen identical heat, hours and boost. Mixed-age coils cause uneven spark energy across the three cylinders, and the ECU compensates by pulling timing globally, which loses the performance benefit of the new coil. If you're roadside-stuck a single MTP-1013 will absolutely get you home, but plan to do the set.
I'm running a Mountune / Revo / Cobb tune — is MTP-1013 the right coil?
Yes — this is exactly the platform we built it for. Tuned 1.5 EBs run higher cylinder pressures than stock and the OE Motorcraft coil starts blowing out spark above ~230hp on ethanol maps. MTP-1013 uses a UK-engineered neodymium core delivering 12% more spark energy, which is what keeps the burn clean at Mountune m235 / Revo Stage 2 / Cobb Stage 2 boost levels. Same physical fit, same connector, same wiring — no map changes needed.
